Account and Data Deletion

This page explains how to request deletion of your Ficious account or data, and what happens to information you have shared.
1. How to request deletion
Email [email protected] from the address associated with your account and ask to delete the account. We may ask for information needed to verify that the request comes from the account owner, so that another person cannot delete your account.
2. What is deleted
When a verified request is completed, we delete or de-identify the account profile and the content and settings we control for the features you used, except where retention is described below. Public content may remain visible until it is removed or the request is completed, and copies already shared by other users or held in protected backups may not disappear immediately.
3. What may be retained
We may keep the minimum information needed for support, safety, fraud prevention, dispute handling, backups, and legal obligations. Aggregate statistics that no longer identify you may be kept to operate and improve the services. Support will explain the handling that applies to your request.
4. Before you delete
Save any information you want to keep, such as aquarium records or photos you have not exported. If you connected a Ficious device, unlink or transfer it first so another account can claim it. Deleting an account does not cancel obligations you may have to other users, such as an agreed handoff.
5. Other choices
You may also ask to access, correct, or receive a copy of your information, or withdraw a consent where processing relies on it. The Privacy Policy describes these choices in more detail.
