A FICIOUS GUIDE
Planning aquarium feeding while away: tasks and hardware
Separate responsibility, records and hardware capability when planning an absence. A reminder or virtual feeding action is not a command to a real feeder.
Assign responsibility before leaving
Review aquariums, tasks and co-keepers in Ficious Care. Agree who observes, who records and how changes will be communicated. Base care decisions on your species, conditions and appropriate sources.
Read the feeder's actual capabilities
If considering hardware, review Ficious IoT and the specific product's published specifications. Do not assume scheduling, remote control or offline operation unless product information confirms it.
Verify the flow before relying on it
Use real-device flows only with connected, compatible hardware and checked conditions. Virtual aquarium states are simulations. An absence plan still needs human oversight and an approach for device or network unavailability.
Getting started
- Review care tasks and responsibility.
- Read the requirements of the species you keep.
- Compare published hardware and supported flows.
- Check connectivity before leaving.
- Agree how unexpected situations will be handled.
Frequently asked questions
Does away mode automatically control a feeder?
Do not assume so. Read the effects described in the app; hardware actions require explicitly supported features and compatible equipment.
Does this page prescribe one feeding amount?
No. Different species, stock and conditions need appropriate guidance; there is no universal feeding amount for every aquarium.
